Volunteers Sought For March For Babies Event
The March of Dimes Mission Possible annual March for Babies event is set for Saturday, May 5, in Winona Lake and volunteers are needed to make the event a success.
The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality and their success in pursuing this mission is because of volunteers.
March for Babies is a large undertaking. In addition to volunteers who participate and raise money for March for Babies, volunteers are needed on the day of the event. Some volunteer opportunities include: checkpoint staff (handing out water, food, etc. along the route), finish line staff, registration help, set-up and clean-up.
Contact the local Indiana Chapter division office to volunteer at 260-482-4201.
According to the March of Dimes, because volunteers lead their efforts, more of every dollar raised can be used to fund research and community programs that help moms and babies. It keeps the cost of funding March of Dimes programs and events minimal.
