Nappanee Library: Spring Break Staycation
No plans to hit the beach or the big city this year for Spring Break? No worries, visit the Nappanee Public Library for a week full of “staycation” fun! The Children’s Department has scheduled a lineup of daily open activities and special programs April 7-13 to keep little bodies busy and families entertained.
Open Lego building, crafts and board games will be available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
Join in the fun on from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, for the Pirate Show with Squiffy Paul O! Singer/songwriter/musician Paul Odenwelder will make the Golden Ages of Pirates come to life in his lively adventure show full of music, magic and imagination for all ages.
A family-friendly Uno tournament will be held on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The winner will receive bragging rights and the title of NPL Uno Champ! All ages and Uno formats welcome.
Enjoy a movie on our big screen from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Reunite with some of the most unforgettable characters in animation and learn the “Bare Necessities” of life in this thrilling jungle adventure. Popcorn and drinks will be served.
Celebrate International Children’s Book Day on Saturday with a make and take project from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Write and illustrate your own blank book in the craft room.
The week’s events wrap up with a family-friendly Scrabble event from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Bring your “A” game and battle for the title of NPL Scrabble Survivor!

Quilt Guild
The Nappanee Quilt Guild, a club for those interested in new quilting techniques, meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Nappanee Public Library. Members will meet at the library next from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. April 10.
Membership for the “Artful Quilters” is open to anyone. Join the fun and fellowship with other quilters while keeping up to date with new activities and techniques in the quilting world. Bring your own projects to share, check out planned programs for the coming year, and sign up for trips.
