The Posh Frog is celebrating its one-year anniversary by hosting an open house Tuesday, April 1. The open house will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Owner Gretchen Kellems invites everyone to check out the best kept secret in Warsaw. This unique consignment store carries gently used, quality clothing at affordable prices. The consignment store features women’s and junior’s clothing.

“Everybody says I have great things and great prices and that I have an extremely nice selection of clothing,” smiled the friendly owner.

The unique store is environmentally friendly. It features recycled furnishings, like the dressing rooms and the checkout counter. “I love the re-purpose aspect of the store,” she said. “Everything is up-cycled and so is the clothing. That’s important to me.”

After hearing statistics about how much waste, especially clothing, was being sent to the landfill, Kellems was inspired to open the store last year.

The Posh Frog has a wide variety of clothing in various sizes from extra small to 3X. “I call larger sizes real-size clothing,” said Kellems.

The store carries denim jeans, shirts, skirts, shoes, purses, jackets and jewelry. A majority of The Posh Frog’s clothing is business casual. “It’s one of my best sellers,” she said.

Kellems accepts consignments anytime during regular business hours. She accepts two seasons or newer; she does not accept designer purses because she can’t authenticate them. Kellems said she is picky about what she chooses to sell. For instance, jeans can’t be frayed at the bottom.

The Posh Frog is now accepting spring and summer clothing. On the first visit, customers can drop off up to 25 items to sell. The store receives 60 percent and the consignor gets 40 percent of the sale. Items are on display for 60 days and after two months, clothing goes through a mark-down process. “If I can’t use it, I donate it to The Beaman Home,” she said.

While shopping, enjoy complimentary hot chocolate or coffee because Kellems said she wants people to feel like they are a guest in her store.
