Dorothy Jean Grow
Dorothy Jean Grow, 83, from Claypool, Ind., passed away at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, in her home.
She was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Mishawaka, Ind., to William and Pansy (Clark) McGinnis. On June 21, 1947, she married Elbert Grow in Warsaw, Ind. She resided in Claypool since 1962.
Dorothy worked for R.R. Donnelley for 15 years and 3 years in the kitchen at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She enjoyed motorcycle riding in her younger years, enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, making various crafts, playing cards and working in her flower beds. She loved watching the Food Channel.
She is survived by two sons: Arden (Laura) Grow, Claypool; andĀ Steve Grow, Palestine, Ind.; two daughters: Brenda (Russell) Brown, Claypool; and Jenny (Mike) Grow-Dawson, Atwood, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Elbert Grow; five brothers: Paul, William, Adrien, Aaron and Tommy McGinnis; and four sisters: Geraldine Ervin,
Bonnie Blosser, Norma Himes and Peggy Drabenstott.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Bishop Richard Campbell, New Vision Church, Warsaw. Burial is to be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
