Four Hoosiers Included On Billionaire List
A national publication’s annual list of the world’s billionaires again includes four from Indiana. Forbes says Cook Group Inc. Co-Founder Gayle Cook’s net worth increased since last March. Herb Simon, Dean White and Jim Irsay all dropped in the ranking.
Cook founded Bloomington-based Cook Medical Group with her late-husband Bill. She places 240th in the world with an estimated net worth of $5.8 billion, which is up from $4 billion last year. She ranked higher on this year’s list than Oprah Winfrey.
Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc. (NYSE: SPG) Co-Founder Herb Simon fell to 868th in the world. His net worth dipped slightly from $2.2 billion last year to $2.05 billion this year.
Ranked just behind Simon at 869th is Merrillville-based White Lodging Services Corp. Owner Dean White. He has increased his net worth to an estimated $2 billion, up from $1.8 billion in 2012.
Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts, saw his net worth increase again. His estimated $1.6 billion is up from $1.4 billion the previous year. He is 1092nd on the list.
