INDIANAPOLIS – Seven area standout senior girls basketball players, led by Warsaw’s Nikki Grose, have been selected to take part in the Top 60 Workout.
The 33rd annual event, sponsored by Hoosier Basketball Magazine, is set for Sunday, March 16 at Marian University in Indianapolis.
Grose, who will play next season at Indiana Tech, was the top scorer and rebounder for the Tigers this season.
Also tabbed for the Workout were Caroline Buhr (Penn), Ashley Campbell (Oregon Davis), Alicia McIntosh (Oregon Davis), Khadijah Moore (Elkhart Memorial), Morgan Olson (NorthWood), Taylor Parmley (Mishawaka) and Kelsie Peterson (West Noble).
Buhr and the duo of teammates Campbell and McIntosh have helped their respective teams reach the State Finals this Saturday in Terre Haute. Buhr’s Penn team will face Bedford North Lawrence in the Class 4-A state championship game, while Campbell, McIntosh and their Oregon Davis team meets Vincennes Rivet for the Class 1-A state title.
Olson, who will play at Youngstown State, is the all-time leading scorer for the Black Swish program. Moore will continue her hoops career at Ball State.
The Workout will feature players from northern and southern Indiana in the first session from 1-3 p.m. Players from central Indiana will take part in the second session from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Rick Risinger, who has guided Heritage Christian to four state championships, will direct both sessions. Oregon Davis coach Terry Minix will assist in overseeing the Workout.
Both sessions of the Workout are open to the public. Admission is $7.
