Actors of all ages and walks of life come together to portray the many faces of Jerusalem from more than 2,000 years ago. These are folks who do not have special training in the art of theater, enjoy coming together to share the story of Jesus during the Passover week and the events that unfold.
Under the direction of Elaine Pearson, the play opens in the streets of Jerusalem with Jesus and the disciples entering the city for Passover. A crowd has gathered to welcome this new prophet and his teachings to the city. But during the week that unfolds, there are those who find what Jesus has to say being not of their liking and plot to have him stopped. Witness the time Jesus meets with the disciples in the Upper Room; then is arrested and brought to the Pharisees’ and before Pontius Pilate; led away to be crucified for his actions; and then the resurrection.
Call early as the seats do fill up rapidly. More than 1,000 people attend this production each year.
