‘Bowl For Kids Sake’ Captains Needed
Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking team captains for its Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser, to be held through March 22 at The Bowling Alley, 1535 N. Detroit, Warsaw. There will be three sessions in Warsaw: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The concept involves the captains recruiting a five-member team consisting of friends, family members or co-workers. The captain reserves with Big Brothers Big Sisters a date and time to bowl and encourages team members to raise pledges.
The team shows up on the chosen date to enjoy free bowling, free snacks, free refreshments and door prizes. Each team member is encouraged to raise $100 or more in pledges, and incentive prizes will be awarded to those who raise more. Incentive prizes include T-shirts, Visa gift cards, Apple TV, Beats solo headphones, Beats Pills and iPad minis. The grand prize is a 55-inch Samsung Smart TV and BluRay player.
“We participate in Bowl for Kids’ Sake every year because it’s fun, easy and a great team-building opportunity,” said Rick Hoffman, Big Brother and vice president of administration at WaterFurnace. “As a company, we have a lot of fun bowling with folks that we don’t rub elbows with everyday at work. I recommend it to every company. A lot of families and groups of friends have a great time as well. This is truly the one event that anyone can have fun participating in while helping out the children in need. Every dollar raised goes to helping match a child with a mentor, putting that child back on the path to success and the opportunity for a bright future.”
