Fort Wayne Philharmonic At Goshen College
GOSHEN – Principal members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic will bring their talents together for a chamber concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, in the Goshen College Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall. The ensemble, named Freimann, will present chamber works for solo winds, strings and piano in unusual combinations as part of the 2013-14 Rieth Chamber Series.
The ensemble is comprised of some of the most prominent members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic: David Ling, violinist and concertmaster; Olga Yurkova, principal second violinist; Derek Reeves, principal violist; Melita Hunsinger, principal cellist; Adrian Mann, principal bassist; Alexander Kelpach, principal pianist; Campbell MacDonald, principal clarinetist; and Orion Rapp, principal oboist.
Freimann’s program will include performances of Benjamin Britten’s Phantasy Quartet for Oboe, Violin, Viola and Cello, Op. 2; Mozart’s “Kegelstatt” Trio for Clarinet, Viola and Piano, K. 498; and Antonín Dvorák’s String Quintet in G Major, Op. 77.
Pre-concert music will be provided by the Youth Honors Symphony Orchestra Brass Ensemble, comprised of members of the YHSO. The ensemble’s short program will include music by Jean Sibelius.

The full Fort Wayne Philharmonic will return to Goshen College Friday, April 11, to present an orchestral concert in Sauder Concert Hall as part of the 2013-14 Goshen College Performing Arts Series.
