CCAC Has Plenty To Offer
WARSAW – Got cabin fever?
Need a good outlet for your kids to get some valuable exercise during the winter?
The City-County Athletic Complex may just have an activity for you.
The CCAC is alive and well with recreational opportunities despite the cold and snow outside. The year-round facility offers much more than just softball leagues during the summer months and as a host for numerous big tournaments.
The CCAC boasts an indoor facility that hosts soccer, basketball and corn hole leagues for adults. The complex is also currently taking registrations for youth indoor soccer and basketball leagues that are slated to begin Jan. 25.
Karl Swihart, Executive Director of the CCAC, says the complex offers a wide range of recreational options during the winter.
“We’re in our third season with the indoor facility and we keep pretty busy with it,” said Swihart. “It’s a vital part of what we do.”
The recreational leagues that the CCAC offers during the winter are important for the coffers of the facility, which is located on Old Road 30, west of town.
“The big thing for us is that we keep our programs affordable for people,” Swihart said. “We keep our fees low, yet at the same time we provide a great economic impact for the community with the events we host.”
The CCAC recently hosted a 20-team corn hole tournament. The facility also has indoor batting facility, which can be rented for use.
The facility had a banner year in 2013, according to Swihart. The CCAC set records in virtually all aspects of its tournaments the past year, including teams competing and fans attending the events. Those things pump valuable revenue into the Warsaw community as far as dollars spent in local restaurants and hotels.
A big addition for the CCAC is a new website, designed by Pro Pay Media, that has been up and running for about the last six weeks.
“The big thing with our new website is that now we can do online registrations,” offered Swihart.
Persons interested in any of the indoor programs, either adult or for youth, should visit the CCAC website at ccacwarsaw.com, visit their Facebook page or call the facility at 269-6663 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. during the week.
