CRAFTING HOPE EMPOWERS KIDS WITH CAPES
The Nappanee Public Library’s “Crafting Hope” group will meet on from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, to make superhero capes for homeless children throughout the country. The crafting night is open to the public. Capes will be distributed by Enchanted Makeovers, an organization that transforms homeless shelters for women and children into places that inspire behavioral and psychological change.
The project is a “sewing-optional” project. If you are interested in joining in the efforts and would like to know what to bring along, go to the Nappanee Public Library website at www.nappaneelibrary.org and click on the events calendar, search the Library on Facebook, or call Lindsay, at 574-773-7919.
Crafting Hope meets quarterly to sew simple projects for local and global organizations. Since 2011, the group has donated hundreds of clothing items, toys, bibs, blankets and more to people around the world and across the street.
