Rista Jane MacDonald, 72, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at the home of her mother, Juanita Krider, where she had been staying for the past 2 years due to failing health.

She was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Wolf Lake, Ind., to Clyde LeRoy and Juanita J. (Friend) Krider Sr. Her formative years were spent in Collins, Ind. She graduated from Churubusco High School. In 1963 she was united in marriage to Victor H. MacDonald. The couple had always resided in Warsaw. He preceded her in death.

In 1953 she began working at Rogers as a meat cutter, retiring from Kroger in 2003. Her church membership was with Collins United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her mother; seven brothers: Clarence Krider, Columbia City; Donald Krider, Churubusco, Ind.; Thomas Krider, Columbia City, Ind.; John Krider, Merriam, Ind.; Wayne Krider, Danny Krider and Gerald ‘Dick’ Krider, all of Columbia City; four sisters: Sandi ‘Sis’ Krider, Laotto; Dee Juillerat, Arizona; Joan Trantham, California; Peggy Trahin of Columbia City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, her husband and a brother: Clyde Krider Jr.

Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the funeral. The burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
