Norma J. Fugate, 64 of Silver Lake, Ind., passed away at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, Ind.

On Dec. 30, 1948, she was born in Warsaw, Ind., to John and Betty (Cartwright) Thomas.

A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Norma was raised in Pierceton, Ind. She worked for Medtronic Sofamor Danek, Warsaw for over 20 years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of the American Legion Post #258, Ladies Auxiliary, Pierceton. Norma loved making crafts and she loved snow.

She is survived by her son: Joseph (Jennifer) Fugate, Silver Lake, Ind.; her sister: Ruth (Joe) Tarlton, Pierceton; two grandchildren: Addison and Wyatt Fugate, Silver Lake; her nephew: John Tarlton, Warsaw; her niece: Angela Tarlton, Warsaw; and her great-niece and great nephew: Taylor and Drake Tarlton, Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son: Timothy Scott.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Pierceton Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastor Kurt Stout officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
