Syracuse Holiday Magic Starts The Season
The beginning of the holiday season is Syracuse is on its way. Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce, Lakeland Youth Center and the Syracuse Parks Department are bringing Holiday Magic to town from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. Anyone of any age is invited to participate in all the activities.
The fun kicks off at the Lakeland Youth Center from noon to 4 p.m. with horse-drawn sleigh rides out in the parking lot until 3 p.m. and gingerbread house making inside the LYC. The Wawasee Pee Wee Football League will be selling concessions. The sleigh is on wheels and the horses have jingle bells so join in the fun. Lakeland Youth Center is located at the corner of SR 13 and Chicago Street in Wawasee Village.
The horse and sleigh move to Veterans Memorial at Crosson Mill Park at 3:30 p.m. where the Vineyard Church is providing coffee and Denny’s Donuts will be for sale. The chamber will provide cookies and cocoa. One of Santa’s reindeer will be at the park.
Entertainment begins at 5 p.m. with the Syracuse Elementary School Special Choir performing and at 5:45 the Inclogito Cloggers will dance their hearts out for the crowd. Lakes Area Madrigal Singers will lead carols from about 6:30 p.m. while Santa Claus will arrive at about 6:45 p.m.
The Syracuse Town Christmas Tree will be lit after Santa’s arrival.
