Nappanee Remains Under Boil Order
A boil order for the city of Nappanee remains in effect today.
The order was issued at 7:30 a.m. Monday morning and residents are being told to continue to boil water used for drinking or cooking. It is hoped that the boil order will be suspended tomorrow, however, testing is still pending.
According to Nappanee Mayor Larry Thompson, the boil order was the result of a malfunction at the water treatment facility Monday morning. Water utility personnel are investigating the cause of this malfunction. Water pressure is currently being restored to the city.
Thompson stated that, due to the loss of water pressure system-wide, it is necessary to issue the boil order for the entire city. The Water Utility will notify all customer when the boil order is lifted.
