Odor Leads Police To Meth Lab
An odor of chemicals led Warsaw Police to the Shamrock Mobile Home Park in Warsaw at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday night and a meth lab was located.
Police were alerted to the odor from a caller and, upon investigation, found the source at Lot 89. Through an open window, officers observed the active one pot methamphetamine lab being tended to by Anthony J. Hackworth, 27.
Hackworth was arrested and charged with a Class B felony charge of dealing/delivering/manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of chemical reagents or precursors with intent to manufacture meth and possession of meth. He was booked on a $2,000 surety bond.
Also at the residence and taken into custody was Hackworth’s sister, Jessica J. England, 33, of Warsaw. She was charged with visiting a common nuisance involving dangerous drugs and held on a $350 cash bond.
The Indiana State Police clandestine lab team cleaned up the scene.
Warsaw Police were also assisted by Winona Lake Police Department and the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Warsaw Police continue to diligently work to reduce the influence of this dangerous drug in our community by being aggressive toward the use, manufacture, and possession of methamphetamine. Warsaw drug tips can be called into the Warsaw Police Department at 574-372-9540.
