Two male suspects forced their way into an elderly New Paris couple’s home Monday night, injuring the man and robbing the pair.

Donald B. Neer, 78, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries after he was struck with a metal object during the robbery. Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department deputies said two black male subjects are being sought for the crime.

At about 9:40 p.m. last night, the two men, both slender in build and possibly in their early 40s, forced their way into Donald and Beverly Neer’s home in the 71000 block of SR 15. After striking Donald Neer, the suspects took money, guns and electronics from the home.
