UPDATE: Vehicle Overturned In Center Street Crash
A minivan overturned yesterday in a three-vehicle accident that occurred at 4:12 p.m. on Center Street at Harrison Street in Warsaw.
According to the police report filed by Warsaw Police Department, the drivers in the crash were Carolyn McCord, 27, of Winona Lake; Jeannie Sanburn, 39, of Warsaw; and Brigette Young, 44, of Warsaw.
According to a witness at the scene, McCord, who was northbound on Harrison Street, was seen running a red light causing Sanburn, who was westbound on East Center Street, to collide into the side of her vehicle. The force of the crash carried into Young’s vehicle, which was southbound on Harrison Street. After striking into Young, McCord’s vehicle flipped onto it’s side where it came to a rest. McCord and her passengers were given assistance exiting the flipped vehicle.
Rescuers on scene reported yesterday that seven people were transported, but no injuries were severe. McCord and her 8-year-old daughter were transported to Whitley County Parkview Hospital on complaints of pain where her other three children were checked out as well. Both Young and Sanburn were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment on complaints of chest and neck pain.
Responding to the scene was the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Warsaw Police and Multi-Township EMS. Damages are estimated to total up to $50,000.
