Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, Oct. 23, 8 a.m. West Old Road 30 and North 520 West, Warsaw. Driver: Darlene M. Vetor, 57, West Center Street, Bourbon. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Tuesday, Oct. 22, 8:18 p.m. North 450 East and East Armstrong Road, Leesburg. Driver: Carl Sewell, 36, EMS T15 Lane, Leesburg. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Tuesday, Oct. 22, 11:28 p.m. Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Richard D. Hyde, 41, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw; and Jeremy A. Blackburn, 37, East Timberline Circle North, Warsaw. Blackburn was exiting the Economy Inn into the median when Hyde, traveling east on the highway, made a sharp left turn into the median, crossing left of center and striking Blackburn’s vehicle. Hyde then left the scene of the accident. He was followed to an alley at 3505 Lake City Hwy. and blocked in by Blackburn’s vehicle. Hyde then attempted to flee the scene by driving over a rock wall, causing damage to the wall. Hyde was arrested for OWI and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Damages: up to $2,500
Tuesday, Oct. 22, 5:10 p.m. North Detroit Street and West 350 North, Warsaw. Drivers: Tori N. Lambright, 18, North Turkey Creek Road, Syracuse; and Gerry L. Compton, 57, North Bonestead Road, Silver Lake. Lambright was following Compton and rear-ended the vehicle when Compton slowed to a stop at the traffic light. Damages: up to $10,000
Tuesday, Oct. 22, 12:10 p.m. West 300 North and Sheldon Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jacqueline R. Tinkey, 81, North Village Drive, Leesburg; and Jacquelin S. Patrick, 50, North 300 West, Silver Lake. Tinkey failed to see Patrick’s vehicle approaching from the east on CR 300 North and pulled into the intersection. Tinkey complained of body pain. Patrick complained of chest pain. Damages: up to $10,000
