Donald D. Hepler
Donald D. Hepler, 88, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away at 11:15 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Bremen Healthcare Center, where he had resided the last 3 and a half years.
He was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Kosciusko, Ind., to Floyd ‘Dick’ and Edith (Hartzel) Hepler. He had lived in this area his lifetime. Don was a graduate of Etna Green High School. On March 11, 1949, he married M. Arlene Bigler. She preceded in death Dec. 13, 1995.
He had worked at Mutschler Brothers in Nappanee, where he was a cabinet maker. He then worked at Patrick Industries until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Union Center Church of the Brethren. Don was an avid golfer and fisherman.
He is survived by his children: Blake (Linda) Hepler, Nappanee; Patrice (Kenneth) Young, Mishawaka, Ind.; grandchildren: Wendy (Brian) McLaughlin; Chad (Tricia) Hummel; Corey Hepler; Scott (Katie) Hepler; Tara (Jason) Briant; three great-grandchildren; and a brother: Lamar Hepler, Nappanee.
Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Union Center Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, at the church. Burial will be in Union Center East Cemetery.
