Carolyn R. Herrell
Carolyn R. Herrell, 52, of Nappanee, Ind., died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital after a long illness.
She was born March 23, 1961, in South Bend, Ind., to Nevil and Shirley (Sechrist) Spicher. In 1982, she married Paul Herrell in Nappanee.
Carolyn lived her lifetime in the area. She attended NorthWood High School where she played basketball. Carolyn received her GED at Elkhart Career Center. She had worked as a cook at Hunter’s for many years and also in the engineering dept. at Century Foam in Elkhart. She was a member of the Nappanee American Legion Auxiliary and ABATE. She enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Carolyn is survived by her husband: Paul; daughters: Tiffany Harris, Warsaw, Ind.; Jo Ann (Marlin) Escoto, Nappanee; a son: Isaac Herrell, Nappanee; a grandson: Gavin Escoto; her parents: Nevil and Shirley Spicher, Nappanee; a sister: Bonnie (Jim) Shaffer, Four Oaks, N.C.; and brother: William “Delby” Spicher, Jon (Bonnie) Spicher, both of Bremen, Ind.; Brian (Judy) Spicher, Nappanee; and Wes Spicher, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral Services will be at 7 p.m. followed by cremation. Rev. Tom Schiefer will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Nappanee American Legion.
