Man Admits Touching Girl Was Wrong
An investigation into an incident of inappropriate touching led to the arrest of a Leesburg man. Joshua Allen Bammel, 31, was arrested Friday after he admitted to an incident involving a 10-year-old female relative.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim told Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigators that she was staying with her grandmother in Leesburg when the incident occurred.
The girl said she lying on a couch when Bammel, a relative, asked her if she would tell anyone if he touched her inappropriately. The girl said she would, at which time Bammel then touched her on a private area, but on top of her clothing.
Bammel was interviewed by police and admitted to touching the girl. He also said he knew it was wrong.
Bammel was arrested for child molesting / fondling a child less than 14 years old. His bond was set at $5,000.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department was assisted in the investigation by Indiana Child Protective Services and the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
