Kelli Kristine Slack and Dr. Aviral Shukla are excited to announce their engagement.

Slack is the daughter of Tom and Valynnda Slack of North Manchester. Her grandparents were Russell and Norma Slack from North Manchester, and Willis and Carleen Fairchild from Shelbyville.

Slack is a 2002 graduate of Manchester High School and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from Purdue University in 2006 and a Master of Science degree in youth development and agricultural education in 2009. She will complete her second Master of Science degree in instructional technology in August of 2013 from Purdue University. She is employed with the Tippecanoe County Public Library as a branch leader in West Lafayette, Ind.

Aviral Shukla is the son of Dr. Aditya P. Shukla and Rekha Shukla of Kota, RAJ, India. He is a 2002 graduate of St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School. Aviral completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from ITT Madras. He earned his Master of Science and Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University in 2010. He is employed with the Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon.

The couple is planning their wedding and reception Sept. 21, in Huntington. Following the wedding they will reside in Banks, Ore.
