Plumlee No Longer A Pacer
INDIANAPOLIS – Miles Plumlee’s stay in his native Hoosier state was a short-lived one.
Plumlee, a Warsaw native, has been traded from the Indiana Pacers after one season with the franchise.
Plumlee, along with Pacer teammate Gerald Green, has been dealt to Phoenix in exchange for forward Luis Scola. The Suns will also receive a first-round draft pick from Indiana in 2014.
Plumlee, a 6-11 forward, was drafted in the first round with the 26th overall pick by the Pacers in 2012. He played in just 14 games for Indiana during his rookie season, averaging 0.9 points-per-game and 1.6 rebounds per contest.
Plumlee, who was born in Fort Wayne, attended WCHS through his junior year. He then attended a prep school in North Carolina for two seasons after reclassifying before going on to earn All-American honors at Duke.
Scola, a native of Argentina, played for Houston for five seasons before playing for Phoenix this past year. The 6-9 forward has averaged 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in his six seasons in the NBA.
Miles’ younger brother Mason, also a former star at Duke, was drafted No. 22 overall in the first round of the NBA Draft in June by the Brooklyn Nets.
