UPDATE: Mobile Meth Lab At Walmart
According to Warsaw Police Department, a Syracuse man has been arrested on meth charges at a local Warsaw Store.
Officials received information regarding a male subject who appeared to be sleeping on a bench inside of Walmart for approximately 6 hours. According to WPD, contact was made with the male subject who has been identified as Gary Steven Kirkwood, 36, 9397 N. Koher Rd. East, Syracuse. Kirkwood was found to be in possession of items associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Though initially there were conflicting reports on where the meth lab was located, Warsaw Police Department stated that during a search of Kirkwood’s moped, several other precursors were discovered. Police also discovered an HCL generator and two “one pot” methamphetamine labs.
The Warsaw Police Department Narcotics Team and Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team assisted with the methamphetamine lab disposal. Kirkwood was arrested and transported to the Kosciusko County Jail on an active parole warrant as well as charges of possession of precursors and manufacturing methamphetamine. Kirkwood’s bond is set at $10,000.
