Shuttle Available For Friday Holiday Events
A free shuttle is being offered from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 5, from Winona Lake’s holiday festivities to Warsaw, where First Friday will be in full swing (see related).
Drop off and pick up points will be located at the post offices in Winona Lake and Warsaw. The shuttle will leave from Winona Lake on the quarter hour and from Warsaw on the half hour. The final shuttle will run from Winona Lake to Warsaw at 11:15 p.m. so people can enjoy the fireworks in Winona Lake.
The “Great American Picnic” is the the theme of July’s First Friday in Warsaw. Activities will begin at 5 p.m. and will conclude at 9 p.m. July’s First Friday is sponsored by Tower Bank.
Activities will include the annual Tower Bank watermelon feast, a Cool Car Cruise-in, Echoes of the past Tractor Show, and 50 cent hot dogs provided by Owens Supermarket. In addition to food and fun, visitors can take a moment to help give back to those in need by donating blood to the American Red Cross Blood Drive. The annual blood drive will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Center Street beside the courthouse.
Winona Lake will be offering families looking for free holiday fun inflatable activities. Inflatables will include an obstacle course, slide and bounce house. Inflatable activities will be available for the public’s enjoyment from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A live DJ will be playing a variety of music at the main stage for guests to enjoy from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All activities will take place at the park between the senior center and town hall.
The annual Warsaw-Winona Lake fireworks display will take place over Winona Lake at dusk. Preceding the fireworks will be the Master Works Pops Concert at 8:30 p.m. Music will include: John Philip Sousa marches, Handel’s Royal Fireworks Music, Copeland’s Billy the Kid, John Williams’ Indiana Jones, Broadway songs, and a medley of Armed Forces music.
