Russell H. Patton, 98, of Ligonier, Ind., passed away at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville, Ind.

He was born on Dec. 15, 1914, to James and Viola (Holden) Patton. On Dec. 13, 1940, he married Lillian Fowler. She preceded him in death.

He had worked as an inspector for Johnson Controls, Goshen, Ind., where he had perfect attendance. He had a love for fishing and woodworking. He also enjoyed home repairs and yard work.

He is survived by one son: Joseph (Stella) Patton, Ligonier; three daughters: Norma (Homer) Reeve, Ligonier; Gloria (Richard) Fought, Ligonier; Caroline (Robert) Hart, Fort Wayne, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law: Barbara Dispennett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters: Elizabeth Juday and Catherine Reed; and five brothers: Sam, Sr., Edward, James, Richard and Robert Patton.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 1, at Yeager Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the funeral home with celebrant Larry Baker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.
