Norma J. ‘Jolene’ Blanchard
Norma J. “Jolene” Blanchard, 82, of Goshen, Ind., passed away at 10:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen.
She was born on Jan. 30, 1931, in Coloma, Mich. She grew up in Coloma and graduated in 1949 from Coloma High School. She was previously married to Lawrence E. McNutt and in 1971 she married Clarence R. Gross who preceded her in 1994. On April 5, 2004, in Middleburg, Fla., she married Ervin H. Blanchard, who survives.
She was formerly employed at Walter Hagen Golf Company in Grand Rapids, Mich.; was the Food, Garden, Radio & Television Editor for the Peninsula Herald in Monterey, Calif., for several years, and was a private secretary for many years.
She moved to Goshen in 2009 from Columbia City, Ind., (Loon Lake) and previously lived in North Webster, Ind., Marion, Ohio, and Florida.
She is survived by her husband: Ervin Blanchard, Goshen; a daughter: Ruth Ann Heiser, Avon, Conn.; a son: Glenn McNutt, Marion, Ohio; two stepsons: David (Kay) Blanchard, Maumee, Ohio; Jerry Blanchard, Goshen; and eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband: Clarence Gross; and two half sisters.
Private graveside services will be held at Tuesday, June 18, at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Ind., with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating.
