National Nursing Assistant & Homemakers Week
Dear Editor,
What type of person does it take to provide for the personal needs of a stranger? How many of us would be willing to go into a home and treat an elderly or disabled person like a parent or grandparent? To provide for their basic but necessary needs so this person can remain in their home with their family at the end of their lives or during recovery.
This week we will be celebrating National Nursing Assistant & Homemakers Week. At Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice Inc. our nursing assistants and homemakers provide loving, compassionate care for elderly and disabled residents of our county. They also provide encouragement & support for their families.
I can personally speak to the benefits of Home Care & Hospice. Both my parents have received this invaluable care. My father received Hospice Care during the last months of his life and my mother is currently receiving Home Care. My family would have not been able to keep either of my parent’s home if it wasn’t for these services.
The nursing assistants & homemakers became like family. It is not just a job to them they truly care about their patients. Both of my parents were treated with respect and honor and my mother currently has a nursing assistant that she has adopted as her new daughter.
Remember to thank a nursing assistant or homemaker this week for all they do to care for the needs of others.
