Tigers, Warriors Pepper All-NLC Baseball List
GOSHEN – The Northern Lakes Conference over the weekend issued its All-Northern Lakes Conference baseball list for this past season. Among the list are four players from Warsaw and a pair from Wawasee.
Leading the Tigers, which finished 9-5 in conference play and a game back of second place in the standings, were a trio of seniors. Jason Ferguson, Jared Lemler and Shay Hepler all concluded their seniors seasons as All-NLC members for head coach Mike Hepler’s squad. Senior Josh Frantz joined the list as an Honorable Mention All-NLC performer.
For Wawasee, which were winners of just one NLC contest this spring under first-year head coach Eric Screeton, sophomore Drew Anderson made the All-NLC list and junior Nate Hare was Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Northridge nearly ran the table this spring, going 13-1 to win the conference title. Seven Raiders made the respective lists, along with head coach Andrew Brabender, who was named NLC Coach of the Year.
NorthWood, the lone NLC team to win a sectional this season, finished tied with Concord for second place at 10-4 and had five on the lists while the Minutemen landed six players on the lists. Goshen and Plymouth tied at 5-9 overall and both named two players while 3-13 Memorial had three garner postseason honors.
