Golf Outing To Benefit Boomerang Backpacks
The 1st Annual Boomerang Backpacks Golf Fundraiser for Kosciusko County will be held Monday, June 17, at Tippecanoe Country Club in Leesburg. Golf on the 18-hole course begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start with lunch to follow provided by Tippecanoe Country Club and sponsored by ProPay Media in Warsaw.
The event will include a hole-in-one car donated by Warsaw Autoplex.
Proceeds from the golf fundraiser will benefit the Warsaw, Wawasee and Tippecanoe Valley Schools Boomerang Backpacks programs. Boomerang Backpacks provides backpacks full of small meals and snacks on the weekends to children in grades K-5 who face food insecurity. During the 2012-2013 school year, 600 students were served in the Kosciusko County elementary schools through the program.
Boomerang Backpacks are greatly needed as all of the elementary schools have 50 percent or more of their students on free and reduced lunches.
Teams of four are needed for the golf outing. The entry fee is $400 per team. Register online, or contact Mark Cockroft at 260-413-2507 or by email at [email protected].
