Dixie Mikel, 78, of Bremen, Ind., and formerly of Nappanee, Ind., passed away at 9:26 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in her residence.

She was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Warsaw, Ind., to Charles William “Pete” and Vivian Cleora (Slusher) Blue. On Dec. 5, 1954, in Urbana, Ind., she was united in marriage to Richard “Rich” Mikel. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter: Peggy (Bill) Hagenmeyer, Bremen, Ind.; a sister: Clete (Doug) Rensberger, Nappanee, Ind.; a brother: Terry (Nancy) Blue, Warsaw; her mother: Vivian Blue, Nappanee; grandchildren: Aaron Beck and Wendi Beck, both of Nappanee; and great-grandchildren: Kiayn, Bryce and Alexis.

She was preceded by her father; her husband: Rich; a son: James; a brother: Lawrence; and a sister: Charlotte.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 3, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Aaron Snodgrass. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
