Ginger Marie Sage-Kozelka
Ginger Marie Sage-Kozelka, 43, of Jones, Mich., passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013, in her residence.
She was born June 22, 1969, in Elkhart, Ind., to John Albert Sage and Terri Sue (Simcox) Funk. Ginger spent her formative years in Elkhart and attended Central High School where she graduated in 1988. On July 8, 1997, she married Timothy Brian Kozelka in Nashville, Ind. The two made their home on Carter Lake in Jones, where they raised their two children.
Ginger was a very lively woman and was voted “most spirited” two years in a row in junior high school. She loved baking cookies for her family and friends. She adored spending time with her son and daughter and was an avid lover of animals. Ginger also enjoyed playing board games, cards and watching old movies with her husband and children. She loved celebrating the holidays and was especially fond of Independence Day.
She is survived by her husband; her son: Roman Michael Sage, Nappanee, Ind.; her daughter: Mickayla Ray Sage, Vandalia, Mich.; her unborn grandson: Buddy William Huffman; her mother; her step-father: Walter Funk, Elkhart; her mother-in-law; a brother: James Warren Sage, Elkhart; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Cremation will take place. According to Ginger’s wishes she will not have a service but a celebration of life at a later date. At that time her ashes will be spread over the lake she loved and looked out over daily.
