Lora Lee Dallas
Lora Lee Dallas, 63, of Tampa, Fla., and formerly of Warsaw, Ind., passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa.
Lora was born Jan. 19, 1950, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Robert V. and Lenore M. (Wilkerson) Dallas. She was a 1968 graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and earned a Bachelor of Science from the Indiana University. She lived most of her life in Kosciusko County, Ind.
Lora was a registered nurse having worked at Kosciusko Community Hospital and Miller’s Merry Manor, in Warsaw, and retired in 2005. She had also worked as a nurse in Indianapolis’ Methodist Hospital and Winona Hospital and at the Indianapolis 500. She was a nurse for Interim Health Care (located in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, Ind.), Luann’s Nursing Home (located in Nappanee, Ind.) and University Community Hospital (located in Tampa) Lora was a member of Red Cross Disaster Teams for 25 years with the Warsaw, Indianapolis and Tampa chapters. She also was a member of Big Chapman Lake Conservation Club. She joined the USO during the Vietnam war and rejoined in 2012. She was a volunteer with Eagle Creek Park and Nature Center in Indianapolis.
Lora was preceded in death by father: Robert V. Dallas; mother: Lenore M. Dallas; sister: Leslie Keller; aunt: Irene Dallas Woempner; and her companion: Dr. Harry Feldman.
According to Lora’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
