Golfers Welcome For Saturday Cancer Benefit
The 3rd Annual Golf Outing in honor of Nora Stephens will be held by her children at Little Big Horn Golf Course tomorrow.
Nora passed away in November 2010 of lung cancer, and though her fight was short, the children feel blessed that she did not suffer as long as others have. Her children started this benefit as a means to help others knowing this is what their mother would have wanted them to do. They have had many of their family members and extended family suffer both from the disease and the financial burdens.
The golf outing is taking place at Little Big Horn Golf Course in Warsaw with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The cost is $50 per play and $200 per team of four. The fee includes golf, a golf cart and food.
A meal of chicken, chips, potato salad, baked beans and more will follow.
The hope is that by raising money for the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund that others fighting cancer can be helped in many ways while honoring Nora’s life.
