Fly Fishing Workshops On May 18
Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department is planning Fly Fishing Workshops for Saturday, May 18. The courses will be taught by instructor Charlie Ray.
A Beginner’s Workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Ramsey Shelter in Nye Park. The cost is $10 per person and class size is limited to five people.
Participants will learn basic fly fishing techniques, casting, how to choose fly rods and fly lines, safety and etiquette, and more. Participants will also learn basic fly tying, including basic knots and bugs.
An Intermediate/Advanced Workshop will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Nye Park. The cost is $10 per person and class size is limited to two people per session. Participants will learn to improve accuracy with special targets and become more proficient with casting in different situations with the guidance of the instructor.
All equipment will be provided for the workshops, however, Intermediate/ Advanced Workshop participants may choose to bring their own rod. Participants must be a minimum of 11 years old.
Registration is required by May 15. A second session of workshops will be held Sept. 21.
