Willie Prescott Sr.
Willie Prescott Sr., 77, of Nappanee, Ind., died at 9:48 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Kenton, Tenn., to Washington Irving and Clara M. (Cavender) Prescott.
Mr. Prescott moved to Nappanee in 1953. He married Joan Bowling, May 22, 1954, in Nappanee. He had worked at McCormick Motors in Nappanee for 33 years as a mechanic. Prior to working there heĀ had worked at Nappanee Milling Company and then managed the D & D Station in Nappanee. He enjoyed working on his 1957 Chevy.
Mr. Prescott was a member of the Nappanee Church of God.
Mr. Prescott is survived by his wife: Joan; a son: Willie Claude (Pam) Prescott; daughters: Vickie (Daniel) Holiday, and Debra (John) Johnson, Charlotte (Patrick) Johnson, all of Nappanee; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother: Billy W. Prescott, Memphis, Tenn.; and sisters: Sheila Coleman, Hornsby, Tenn.; Jean Fryer, Covington, Tenn.; Mary Smith, Memphis, Tenn.; Betty Manning, Ark,; and Blossom Northcutt, Russellville, Ark.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah June Sanders.
Family and friends may call for two hours prior to the 5 p.m. Memorial Service on Wednesday, April 24, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Rev. Justin Moore will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimers Association or The Center for Hospice.
