Floyd Horn
Floyd Horn, 82, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to John and Daisy (Meador) Horn. He graduated from Prestonsburg High School, class of 1948, and joined the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. Sgt. Floyd P. Horn was honorably discharged.
He lived most of his life in Warsaw and the Kosciusko County area. On Sept. 10, 1955, in married Angie Wallen in Martin, Ky.
Mr. Horn worked at Creighton Brothers for 35 years, retiring in 1992. In earlier years was a co-owner of Horn Brothers Junk Co. in Prestonsburg, Ky.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126. He loved to grow tomatoes, play cards and watch old westerns on TV. He loved his dog, Shag, and was a loving husband and father who adored his grandchildren
He is survived by his wife: Angie Horn, Warsaw; a son: John (Jackie) Horn, Warsaw; two grandchildren: Kimberly (Phillip) Call, Warsaw; Matthew (Tashina) Horn, Plainfield, Ind.; and five great-grandchildren: Ally, Ben, Lucy, Josey and Pete.
He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter: Cosette Horn; three brothers: John Horne, Donald Horne and Walter Horne; and a sister: Carrie Johnson.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home and by officiated by Ruben Rose Jr. and Ron Neal. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
