Marylin A. King
Marylin A. King, 73, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Parkview Whitley Hospital where she was admitted Saturday.
She was born Oct. 24, 1939, in Kosciusko County, Ind., a daughter of A. Ralph and Opal (Wolfe) King. Her formative years were spent in the Larwill, Ind., area. She graduated from Larwill High School in 1957. She attended Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind.
She began her work career with General Electric, Fort Wayne, Ind. Moving to Colorado, she became a journeyman carpenter. She then joined Conoco, Denver, Colo., becoming a top chemist retiring in 1999.
She attended the Community Bible Church, Columbia City, Ind., was a member of the National Rifle Association and loved to hunt, fish and hike especially in Colorado.
Surviving relatives include her siblings: Lester (Deb) King, Columbia City; Leta (Russell) Erne, Pierceton, Ind.; and David King, Larwill, Ind.; nephews: Jeff (DeAnna) King, Columbia City; Brian (Kim) Erne, Warsaw, Ind.; nieces: Sandra (Michael) Petersen, Columbia City; Deborah (Charles Dull) King, Fort Wayne; Amy (Chris) Larue, Larwill; Cindy (Dan) Jedrzejak, Indianapolis, Ind.; Tabitha (Jamie) Corn, Leesburg, Ind.; Heather and Amanda King, Columbia City.
Visitation will take place at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. A Memorial Service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at with Pastor John Cummings officiating.
Preferred memorials are to Community Bible Church or donor’s choice.
