Warsaw Schools Get Into Foreign Culture
Students at Warsaw Community High School spent Thursday afternoon celebrating foreign cultures at the World Language Extravaganza as part of World Languages Week.
They had refreshments and learned to make foods, dance and learned about fun things in new languages and cultures.
Jacqueline Schram, professor of French at Grace College, who lived in France for 17 years, gave a keynote address, explaining the importance of communication and culture in today’s world, prior to the breakout sessions in classrooms, which included “Write your Own Chinese Name,” “Latin Activities,” “Samba Line Dance,” “La Corrida de Torres,” Quesadillas,” and “Mousse au Chocolat.”
Throughout the keynote, Schram presented the group of students with four quotes, which they were expected to discuss amongst neighbors.
