Freddie Wayne Allen, 50, of Nappanee, Ind., of 751 E. Walnut St., Nappanee, formerly of Hurley, Va., and of Akron, Ind., passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, at his sister’s residence
He was born Sept. 16, 1963, in Grundy, Va., to Fred B. and Okie (Lester) Allen. He worked for Miller Manufacturing Company where he worked for 19 years where he was a setup man. He worked for Miller Manufacturing Company where he worked for 19 years where he was a setup man.
He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was his favorite driver. He was very close to his nephews Corey and Seth Blankenship.
He is survived by his sisters: Tabatha Blankenship, Akron; Diane (Michael Reed) Blankenship, Akron; two nephews: Corey and Seth Blankenship, Akron; and special friends: Jim Weaver and Robert Blankeship, Nappanee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and step-father: Douglas Justice.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at the funeral home. Services will be officiated by Pastor Connie Cline. Burial will take place in Nichols Cemetery, Akron.
