Betty Sims, 90, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen, Ind.

She was born April 18, 1922, in Whitley County, Ind., to Charles and Wilma  (McPheter) Gordon. She married Edwin Sims on April 20, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1995.

She was a lifelong area resident. Betty was a homemaker and loved flowers, gardening and cutting her grass.

She is survived by her daughter: Judy Sims, Syracuse; a son: Thomas (Vickie) Sims, Bristol, Ind.; four grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. Graveside services will be Friday, March 15, at the Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, Ind.  Pastor Pat Park will officiate services.
