Warsaw Trio, Knafel Honored
A lengthy list of area girls basketball players, highlighted by a trio from Warsaw, have received postseason All-State honors from the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
The Warsaw duo of Lindsay Baker and Jennifer Walker-Crawford earned honorable mention accolades on the Senior All-State team. The pair helped lead the Tigers to a 24-2 mark this past season, which included a conference title, along with Class 4-A sectional and regional championships.
The honorable mention list also includes Wawasee standout KiLee Knafel. The talented guard, who will play at IUSB, averaged 24.3 points-per-game her senior season.
Among the other area players earning honorable mention status on the Senior All-State list chosen by the IBCA are Savannah Bley (NorthWood), Olivia Carlton (Penn), Katie Barnard (Mishawaka Marian), Cagney Craig (Whitko), Haley Richardson (West Noble), Haley Schrock (Northridge), Madison Schrock (Northridge), Tia Garnett (Elkhart Central), Taylor Lutz (Penn), Shelby Nelson (Mishawaka), Amber Redinger (Plymouth) and Aimee Swihart (Goshen).
Morgan Olson, a junior standout at NorthWood, was tabbed to the first-team, Underclass All-State squad.
The honorable mention list for Underclass All-State is highlighted by Warsaw star junior Nikki Grose. The post paler averaged 11.8 points-per-game and led the Tigers in rebounding at 9.5 per game this past season.
Also named to the honorable mention team are Haley Brown (Fairfield), Jordyn Frantz (NorthWood), Deja Felder (Goshen), Morgan Miller (Northridge), Taylor Miller (Northridge), Khadijah Moore (Elkhart Memorial), Taylor Parmley (Mishawaka), Kesley Peterson (West Noble), Tia Murphy (South Bend Washington), Taloni Reese (South Bend Adams) and Hunter Stevens (Plymouth).
