James A. Fleagle
James A. Fleagle, 80, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital Warsaw.
He was born July 6, 1932 in Richmond, Ind., to Herschel L. and Reba (Snyder) Fleagle. Moving from Richmond to Etna Green, Ind., in 1965 the family moved to Warsaw, Ind., in 1978. He was united in marriage to Beulah L. Caudill on Aug. 24, 1955 in Richmond. He retired as an accountant with Veada Industries of New Paris, Ind.
Jim faithfully served his country as Sergeant (T) with the Parachute Infantry Regiment 502 Airborne Infantry, of 101st Airborne Division in the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. He was awarded the Bronze Star, a Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart.
He was graduate of Earlham College of Richmond, with an A.A. in accounting. He was a member of the John C. Peterson Post #49 of the American Legion of Warsaw.
An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of Rozella Ford Golf Course of Warsaw. He held various offices as a board member with the Lake Golfers Association (Rozella Ford) including president of the board. He enthusiastically volunteered his time for the betterment of the course where he is listed in the Lakeland Golfers Association Hall of Fame for his many accomplishments.
Also, Jim was an accomplished woodworker who enjoyed building furniture.
He is survived by his loving family, including his wife: Beulah Fleagle, Warsaw; sons: Steve (April) Fleagle, Syracuse, Ind.; and Tim (Fran) Fleagle, Etna Green, Ind.; and grandchildren: Rachael, Aaron, Emilie, Phillip, Joseph and Drew.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Lloyd Fleagle.
Calling hours are scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 4, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Warsaw. Interment services will be private.
