Freeda Witham
Freeda Witham, 84, of Mentone, Ind., passed away at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at her residence.
Freeda was born Nov. 27, 1928, in Plymouth, Ind., to Forrest and Goldie Teel Kesler. On Jan. 14, 1949, she married Rex Witham in Mentone. He survives.
She worked for Farmers State Bank of Mentone. Freeda was the secretary to the President of the bank. She spent 30 years at the bank and held a Vice President title. She was a lifetime area resident and resided till her passing in her childhood home. Freeda was a 1946 graduate of Mentone High School. She was a lifetime member of the Mentone Church of Christ and she faithfully read her Bible. She loved sharing time with her family and also enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She is survived by her husband; her son: Gregory R. Witham, Valparaiso, Ind.; three daughters: Caleen (Susie) Rentschler, Mentone; Janie (Eric) Gard, Carmel, Ind.; Sally (Jay) Hearn, St. Charles, Ill.; seven grandchildren: Natalie, Nathan, Aaron, Katie, Maggie, Rachel and Charlie; five great-grandchildren: Frank, Dustin, Darcy, Ben and Gibson; a sister: Ellen Flenar, Mentone; and special nephews: Bob Everman, Nashville, Ind.; and Bill Everman, Gas City, Ind.
She is preceded in death by her infant: Carol; daughter-in-law: Jennifer Witham; sister: Eloise Everman; and brother-in-law: Bob Flenar.
Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 4, at King Memorial Home, Mentone. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 5 at the funeral home. Services will be officiated by Billy Steele. Burial will take place in Mentone Cemetery.
