Imogene L. Preston
Imogene L. Preston, 95, of Albion, Ind., passed away at 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013.
She was born Jan. 30, 1918, in Topeka, Ind., to Irvin and Ella (Moseman) Fought. She married Clayton Preston on Feb. 6, 1937. He preceded her in death in 2011.
Imogene was a homemaker and had worked for the West Noble School Corporation for over 10 years. She was a 1936 graduate of Topeka High School and was a member of Ligonier United Methodist Church.
She is survived by five children: Charlene (Sanford) Hooley, Ligonier, Ind.; Karen (Jerry) Branham, Ligonier; Linda Burns, Orlando, Fla.; Kevin (Candy) Preston, Winona Lake, Ind.; and Robert (Vicki) Preston, Wawaka, Ind.; 11 grandchildren: Marty (Karen) Leamon, Monty (Jeryl) Leamon, Sean (Sonya) Black, Kari Branham, Lorie (Joe) McColgan, Lane (Amy) Baker, Joseph Preston, James Preston, Sadie Preston, Clay Preston and Drew Preston; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Joann Keplinger, LaGrange, Ind.; Jane (Dean) Ulrey, LaGrange; and Janice Keenan, LaGrange.
Mrs. Preston was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters: Kathryn Preston, Helen Woodworth, Phyllis Myers and Ilah Donaldson.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier. A funeral service in her honor will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Ligonier United Methodist Church. Pastor Byron Kaiser will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
