Bobcats Clip Cougars On Hardwood
HAMLET – The Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team came up on the short end of a close contest at Oregon-Davis Thursday night.
The host Bobcats topped the Cougars 66-57 in the nip-and-tuck affair.
LCA led 14-12 after the first quarter before OD took a 28-26 halftime lead. The hosts led 44-40 at the end of the third period before posting the nine-point victory.
Chris Silveus and Billy Pitts each scored 13 points to lead LCA. Each hit a trio of treys in the game and Silveus dished out five assists.
Calvin Prinsen had 10 points and five blocked shots for the Cougars. Chris Maron and Collin Price each scored seven points and Price had five assists and Logan Mount a team-high five rebounds.
OD, which improved to 3-14 with its second straight win, outscored the Cougars 18-8 at the free throw line.
Blake Hurford poured in 28 points to lead the winning Bobcats. Zach Johnston scored 13 points and Joel Worthington added 10.
LCA, now 6-14, plays at Howe and OD plays at LaVille Tuesday night.
