A Wawasee High School student was injured in a fall at the school this afternoon and authorities are trying to determine exactly what happened.

Scanner traffic indicated the teen boy fell from the ceiling of an unsupervised area and called then called 911 using his cell phone to say he had tried to kill himself. The student may have suffered a broken jaw.

Rumors at the school today also said school officials found a suicide note in a bathroom. Wawasee Superintendent Tom Edington confirmed a note was found but did not know the content and did not say if today’s incident was related.

An ambulance was called to the school and transported the student to a local hospital for assessment and care. His injuries are not life threatening. The school is investigating circumstances surrounding the incident.
