Triton Ladies Run Table In NSC
LAKEVILLE – The Triton girls basketball team put an exclamation point on its conference championship Friday night.
Kylie Mason led the way as the Trojans topped host LaVille 56-41 in the league and regular-season finale.
Mason poured in a game-high 24 points as the Class 1-A No. 9 Trojans completed a perfect 7-0 run this season through the Northern State Conference.
LaVille led 15-10 after the first quarter and 20-18 at intermission Friday night before Triton took command with a strong third quarter. The Trojans outscored the Lancers 21-7 in the pivotal period to take control.
Mason hit a trio of treys to lead coach Adam Heckaman’s squad, which finishes the regular season at 16-5 overall.
Shana Anderson netted 15 points for the Trojans. Krystal Sellers scored eight points and Taylor Hatfield chipped in with six for the winners.
Amanda Carbiener scored 12 points, Kelsey Gurtner 11 and Hannah Herbster 10 for LaVille, which drops to 10-10 overall and finishes 4-4 in NSC play.
Triton won the junior varsity contest by a 41-33 final.
Triton will play the winner of the Culver-South Central game next Friday at 6:30 p.m. (EST) in a semifinal game of the Class 1-A Oregon-Davis Sectional. LaVille faces either Bremen or Prairie Heights, also next Friday, in a 6 p.m. semifinal game at the Class 2-A Central Noble Sectional.
