Mary Jane Miller, 84, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 6:37 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at I.U. Goshen Hospital in Goshen, Ind.

She was born on Oct. 3, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio, to Arthur and Myrtle M. (Bushong) Robinson. She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1946 from Syracuse High School. She was married on July 4, 1946, in Syracuse to Roy “Doc” Miller Jr. who preceded her in death on March 12, 1986.

She retired from Johnson Controls in Goshen after 40 years of service and formerly attended the Grace Lutheran Church in Syracuse.

She is survived by two sons: Tom Miller, Syracuse; and Jon (Mandie) Miller, Leesburg, Ind.; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Margaret Darr, Syracuse.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson: Andy Miller; and four brothers: Grover, Tom, Jim and Bob Robinson.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Rice Jr. of the Walnut Church of the Brethren in Argos. Private burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
